Japanese Technology

Introduction:
We chose to do our Project on Japanese technology. Mostly because the technology of electronics is rapidly increasing, and it is interesting to learn about these new inventions. We researched mostly transportation and communication gadgets, and the newer technology of Japan today.

Advanced Transportation:
A new way to travel in Japan is buy the Bullet Train ( Shinkansen ). This train can carry up to 130 million passengers per year, and will run 300 trains each day. The bullet train runs from Tokyo to Osaka, and has never before had an accident. The original Shinkansen bullet trains could reach the speed of 200 km/hr, when the newer bullet train came out, the "Hikari", it operated at 220 km/hr. The current advanced Shinkansen bullet train manufactured in 1993 is the "Nazomi". It can run 270 km/hr in 2 and a half hours from Tokyo to Osaka. There is a plan of a newer bullet train hopefully to be manufactured that can reach a speed of 400 km/hr. Other transportation in Japan is mostly done by vehicle. The most popular vehicle is the boxed cars such as the smart car.

Adavanced Communication:
Japan has the world's most advanced market for mobile devices. More and more phones are being updated, used to travel, check in, enter and pay by simply swiping the phone by a sensor. For example, in seven million stores, about 30 million handsets are being used to pay for the items being bought, and since last November, around 5 million songs have been downloaded using a phone. These phones are capable of FM transmitters and recievers, TV, GPS systems, and location trackers for the safety of children and one-button alarms. Currently about 75% of the population owns a mobile phone, and they are constantly being introduced with new features. NTT DoCoMo is coming out with a finger phone, a phone that is worn like a wristwatch. when you touch your forefinger to your thumb you answer or end a call, the bones in your hand conduct the sound into your ear. A phone that has been in construction for quite some time is a phone that can read your brain waves.
